Update About Matter
We are very sorry to advise that Carers Trust's online services for carers - Matter, Babble and Carers Space - closed on 12 April 2017.
For more information about why this has happened please see this letter from Carers Trust's senior management on our main website.
Matter was created by Carers Trust to provide an online space for young adult carers aged 16–25 to connect, share their experiences, and access trusted support. The vision of the site was to bring together young adult carers from across the UK, as well as those who work with young adult carers, via an online space which was safe, fun, and most of all, inspiring.
Where can I go now for support and advice?
If you're aged 16–25 and are caring for a family member or friend, there are several places we can recommend where you can find help online or near where you live.
About Carers Trust
Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. We work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
We do this with Network Partners – a unique network of 116 independent carers centres, 55 Crossroads Care schemes and 99 young carers services. Together we are united by a shared vision for carers – to make sure that quality assured information, advice and practical support are available to all carers across the UK.
Our vision is of a world where the role and contribution of unpaid carers is recognised and they have access to the trusted quality support and services they need to live their own lives.
What do we do?
Together with our Network Partners, we provide access to desperately-needed breaks, information and advice, education, training and employment opportunities. Our Network Partners benefit from the provision of grants, advice documents and reports to improve carers' services. We give carers and young carers avenues to speak to someone and make their voices heard. Find out more about Carers Trust.
